If you’re interested in having some cosmetic dentistry done, but are hesitant to start because you don’t know exactly what your new smile will look like, we have the answer.
Using a computer process called “photographic cosmetic imaging” we can show you how your new smile will look – so you can really see the changes, not just imagine them.
At Dental Associates, our dental patients can also choose from a wide array of cosmetic dentistry options, to cover an equally wide array of cosmetic problems, including: gaps between teeth; chips and cracks; permanent stains; dark silver fillings; exposed root surfaces; discoloration; twisted or crooked teeth – the list goes on and on.
Today’s most popular cosmetic dentistry options include:
- Dental Bleaching – a process by which discolored teeth are whitened and brightened through a series of prescribed at-home treatments or a one-time visit to our office.
At-home bleaching consists of an office visit where impressions of the teeth are made to create custom bleaching trays for the patient. On the second visit, the patient is supplied with all instructions and whitening gel to gradually whiten their teeth in the privacy of their own home. This option is best for patients who have very sensitive teeth and do not need immediate results.
In-office bleaching (Zoom!) is performed in one visit. The lips and gums are covered with a solution to protect them during the process and a gel specially made for Zoom! is then applied to the tooth surfaces. In 3, fifteen minute sessions, the Zoom! light is turned on for a complete 45 minute treatment. With an average whitening of 8 shades, the patient goes home with a brighter, whiter smile. This option is great for patients who need super fast results for events such as weddings and class reunions. (See the Zoom! information sheet below)
- Dental Veneers – shell-like porcelain facings that can be bonded onto stained teeth, or used to reshape or lengthen teeth. Dental Veneers require a minimum of two office visits. See the Lumineers® information sheet below
- Dental Crowns- When there is not enough healthy enamel for veneers, dental crowns are used to restore function and esthetics.
- Dental Bonding - a procedure that involves molding a tooth-colored dental composite resin onto a tooth to change its shape or color. Dental Bonding can usually be accomplished in one office visit.
- Dental Filling replacement with tooth-colored composites – composite resin dental fillings were created as an alternative to traditional silver amalgam fillings, which can blacken over time. Made of a composite dental resin, these tooth-colored fillings not only make for a better looking smile, they’re strong and durable too.
- Dental Implants – today’s number one option for permanent replacement of a missing tooth or teeth. The dental implant acts as a root on which to anchor a permanent, made-to-match porcelain crown to create a replacement tooth with a highly natural look and feel.
