Dr. Gilman specializes in Orthodontics and practices in our Shelton, Newtown, New Milford offices. He received his Bachelor of Science degree (summa cum laude) in Materials Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) (cum laude) from the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Dentistry, Master of Science degree in Biophysics from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Master of Science degree in Oral Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Dr. Gilman completed his residency at the University of Illinois at Chicago Department of Orthodontics where he earned his certificate in Orthodontics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Northeast Society of Orthodontics.

Dr. Gilman has been trained in the most current digital imaging and esthetic procedures, including Invisalign® braces, which enables him to create spectacular smiles for children, teens and adults. Dr. Gilman has been recognized by the Invisalign® Corporation as one of the top 100 doctors in the country using Invisalign® and has been designated with "Elite status" by Invisalign every year since 2007 .  Dr. Gilman was certified by Invisalign in 2001 and now he is the largest provider of Invisalign and Invisalign Teen in the state of Connecticut.  Dr. Gilman has treated more Invisalign cases than any doctor in the tri-state area.  Dr. Gilman uses Invisalign not only for adults but for teens and children as early as age 7.  With his experience in treating even the most complicated cases with Invisalign, Dr. Gilman has helped Dental Associates to become the 6th largest provider of Invisalign in the United States.

Dr. Gilman also serves as a dental consultant for Children's Adventure Center in Sandy Hook and is available to their staff regarding advice on the dental health and care of the children enrolled in the school.

Dr. Gilman has his heart in his practice and his practice in his heart. Orthodontics has allowed Dr. Gilman to utilize his engineering and computer science background to create simply spectacular smiles for children, teenagers and adults.   When he's not straightening teeth with passion and precision, Dr. Gilman enjoys spending time with his wife, three year old daughter, and 2 year old son.  They are expecting their 3rd child in May.  His hobbies include running, weightlifting, and water sports.
